​When The Timeless Doctor - engaged in a mission for the devastatingly powerful Division, discovers a portal in a temple, she doesn’t expect it to have such wide reaching consequences. The ruins are so old that nothing can translate them, but one truth is clear: They are older than the universe itself. As the mystery deepens, The Doctor discovers an archeology expedition studying the tomb. But whoever this Professor River Song is, she really shouldn’t be here…

Thousands of millenia later, the current Doctor and her companion Carol find a hint of the Division’s work on their return from the planet Skaro. Soon they find themselves in the Before-Time, a strange boundless sort of nothingness before the Big Bang - where the universe was all condensed into one spot. But how can they be here if existence doesn’t exist outside that single pinprick of light? The unseen founders of the universe are responsible for some terrible misdeeds. Is Division a pawn or playing their own long game?

Beyond Space and Time, the Arbiters wait. The Doctor and Carol can’t hope to understand what they have done to create the universe, or why they did so. But they know they exist, and they did it all for an inexplicable motive. Loss is the Arbiter’s weapon, and The Doctor’s lost quite a lot. Memories of past failures begin to solidify…and old friend Parker is especially vengeful.

Professor River Song is displeased, and quite frankly, that’s a thing very few have accomplished. A Mystery is something she cannot abide by, especially since she has just discovered she can never know the answers. The Timeless Doctor and her have entered a sort of unsteady alliance to understand what’s going on, but neither of them have any clue as to who each other is. And it’s important to know that when you’re faced with Lovecraftian Horrors who can speed up time. As the years go by, and lifetimes pass together… well. A Lot can be left unspoken…

​The Division have a sort of Grief Technology, that’s clear. The Doctor only just stopped it from tearing her hearts out. It’s technology directly taken from the Arbiter’s… Technology that is godlike to gods, and it feeds on the loss around each person affected by it... leading to devastating consequences to time. And Planets. Carol’s loss is a lot more than the Doctor knows. The Doctor’s about to meet Carol’s Dead Mum. It’s not going to go well.

New Years, 1899. The City is Dark, but it’s The Dawn of a New Era for the Planet Earth. Now, In More Ways Than One. Carol is trapped in a catatonic state of grief. The Division’s oldest and most dangerous agents are amassing. Judoon walk the streets, and The Timeless Doctor’s been imprisoned in the Tower of London for the heinous Harlotry of …her clothes. River Song and The Modern Doctor come face to face at last. Before the Night is over, there are going to be fireworks.
