Crossfire
The Doctor, upon meeting the alternative Romana that the Faction created in Warfront is shocked to discover not only a new friend in new companion Carol, but a dire message for her future that may threaten the entire universe as the Time War rages on...
The Way Of Dark Things
The Time War continues to rage, and while the Doctor lives in mourning, another Doctor chooses to fight. On the brink of the Galaxy, the Doctor arrives on an ancient planet blanketed in dust and secrets. But as time ripples out, the planet is alive. And then it dies once more. The alternate version of Romana arrives, surprised by the survival of this incarnation of the Doctor. She's leading a Gallifreyan Archaeology mission, one that the Doctor is suspicious of - why would Gallifrey be focusing on archaeology during the greatest war it has ever known, and why would it's president be leading that mission? With her comes a strange young woman from Sheffield named Carol- who seems to have a personal knowledge of her to boot. The planet is calm at first, but when the Doctor finds her friend Shelby encased in rock in this planet's crust, it's clear something very bad has happened to her other self. And something worse is beneath the rock.
This dead planet was once called Skaro. And it's waking up...
Apex Predator
Something from beyond time has breached into our own universe, and it's something that will one day destroy the entire galaxy - from Skaro, to Gallifrey, to Earth. This prophesized apex predator will quite literally consume the universe. As the ancient survivors of Skaro rise from the depths, filled with ancient fury, there's little hope. The fate of the universe is the ultimate shock to the Doctor and Shelby, but Romana seems to have a plan involving Carol, this young woman from Sheffield who has been dragged into this against her will. But for once, it isn't a nefarious scheme of the Daleks...it's one of the Time Lords...
The Incoming Storm
Shelby is gone. Not dead. But gone. She had to go, because it wasn't fun anymore. It was hell. And when it all sinks in, The Doctor has to stop. She can't keep going. She needs a break, and to feel happy again. And so, off the coast of New England, 1800, the Doctor waits. Soon, something very very bad is going to happen, and she knows it. Wherever her past self is, she can't help but feel afraid - because something is coming. A creature of ludicrous proportion, the kind of thing even the Doctor's never dealt with before...
But now it's quiet. On the shores, discontent is brewing over the course of the election of 1800. In the sky, discontent is brewing over time itself...
Meanwhile, Romana has quite incidentally, decided she would like to become involved in early American politics.
Time Squared
The Doctor and team encounter The Doctor - from but a few moments ago - furious at the loss of Shelby now too - fully believing that her friend is dead no matter what the other Doctor says. This Doctor is mournful and angry, and lashes out at her other self. But when the Time Predator descends onto these worn beaches, it becomes clear that The Doctors must work together to avert the coming apocalypse. The Doctor must stop what's coming.
The origin of the Time Predator is revealed - and the truth could quite literally send the Doctor mad.
The Long Hard Truth
The Time Predator was summoned by the time lords as a ultimatum, and a last ditch attempt to annihilate the Daleks in one swift move. What it's done instead is seek vengeance on that which imprisoned it. And the woman who contained it to begin with.
Millions of years ago, the Doctor trapped a hostile being in a parallel universe while in service of the Division. But it's grown much larger than that now. It fed on that entire universe, and destroyed it - and now it's here. The Time Predator is a bootstrap paradox. That's how it's so dangerous, it's very existence is an affront to the cosmos. The Time Predator was trapped by the Doctor. But the Doctor only trapped it because the Time Predator already remembered that happening. When they were the Doctor.
The Doctor is the Time Predator. The Doctor is the supposed destroyer of the universe.
Following A Dream
Romana's plan comes to a head, and The Doctor discovers what she has intended for Carol - intending to use an ordinary human being as a temporal nexus point to fix alterations in the Time War. The Doctor's not sure as to the morality of Romana, but Romana remains steadfast. This is war. Before they can even consider this, moments after they escape the time eddy, they are captured by a Dalek strike force. Trying to escape, Carol is caught in a temporal weapon, now existing at three times the speed of time as the Doctor and Romana. They're on different time tracks - and Carol is alone, desperately clawing out for survival. She's completely alone on a foreign world, and worse, nothing can reach her plane of time. Nothing but the Daleks. As The Daleks hop between the time tracks to hunt her down, things intensify. Carol is an ordinary human being, but she's going to have to become a brilliant human being to survive not just the wild - but the Dalek hunting party that keeps getting closer.
Ruin
After Carol spends four years suspended on a different time track, the Doctor and Romana think all is over. Indeed, it seems like it is - as The Dalek Emperor arrives, all hope seems lost. Carol's return heralds to them a new hope of survival, but as the Dalek Emperor prepares to eliminate the Doctor from time, all is up in the air. In every time war there's always a final battle, but is this it? Or is it only a prelude?
Valeyard
It's a pattern, isn't it? Yeah, the whole thing is a pattern. A pattern that never stops, never stops, never stops, the Valeyard is always just a tiny bit out of reach. Always in the future. When's it going to happen? In the future. Yeah, that's the thing, because really, The Doctor beats the Valeyard, that's what she does, and just like that, he slides down the line further into "going to happen eventually." And he hasn't yet.
But it's building up. It's been the Valeyard, it always was the Valeyard - The Time Storm the Doctor is afraid of is all of her dark energy literally made physical into a raging beast. It's all because of the Valeyard - the plan is coming to fruition. The dark triumph of the Valeyard awaits... and putting it off will just make it even worse.
Perpetual Infinity
The Valeyard has taken control. As Carol and Romana scramble to pick up the pieces, the Doctor is the universe's greatest threat. The only solution is an uneasy alliance - the most uneasy alliance you can get. Rest easy, folks... The Dalek Time Controller has a plan.
A Small Matter of Unavoidable Death
Time and again, awful things happened to the Doctor. It’s partially why she’s gone mad and is trying to destroy the universe with a bootstrap paradox of infinite dark energy.
The Other Doctors don’t really like this, but the one that this story is about is doing some archeology. The Dalek Time Controller has found an ancient tablet from the dawn of time that just may be the siphon the Valeyard is using to pull this off. Just have to do some crypt bunking. How hard can it be?
The oldest point and the youngest point in the Doctor’s timeline are at war. Ah, well. Time Wars are irritating that way.
Look, I Really Didn't Mean To
Coordinator Narvin is having a difficult time with the whole ‘second time war’ thing. It’s sort of made everything rather bad. With the attempts to stop the time storm happening, failed, at the moment, his chief-est problem is the Doctor and the Doctor. Who are fighting each other, which is bad in itself, but also are destined to create a bootstrap paradox that’s going to eat the universe up. As Romana and Carol arrive on Gallifrey, determined to avert this, they have a command: The Doctor only became the Valeyard because of everyone she knew and loved dying. Can’t they just change that? Narvin is going to have to break his own rules for the greater good. Of the universe. No pressure.
The Final Act
Folding in on itself, the Time Storm arrives, and begins to manifest the end of the universe, as planned by the Valeyard in his boldest plan yet - at last, he has stolen the Doctor's body! With the other Doctors and Romana trapped at the mercy of the Valeyard, The Dalek Time Controller and Carol have to make a bid for the Doctor’s compassion to succeed against all else. Curtain...
